How long has it been since I posted anything to this place? In my opinion, too long. Recently I’ve only been posting to Instagram or Twitter with paining projects/progress but ironically skipping posting it here. I’ll admit it was out of pure laziness but let’s not dwell on it. So… what have I been up to? Here’s a bullet point list because I don’t feel any of it deserves more than a mention let alone a novel detailing the mundane:
- I left NY and relocated to the Seattle area in mid 2016.
- Took over the defunct subreddit r/orks and it’s really taken off. As of Aug 2018, we are almost at 3,000 subscribers and continue to grow.
- My painting motivation seems to be coming in waves but I need to remember how much I enjoy the process and finished product to keep that motivation up.
- I haven’t played any 40k games lately but that kind of falls to the above point, motivation. I’m determined to get my game on be it skirmishes on my home board or out a the FLGS.
- I’m determined to get a complete inventory of my Orks completed soon. I don’t think I’ll be featuring points or anything wargear related, just the models, what’s painted, what’s on my painting desk, what conversions are in-progress.. that kind of thing. Like a running list of projects so my hobby ADD is in-check.
Now that we’re up to speed… speaking of speed… Warhammer 40,000 Speed Freeks is on the horizon with a few details and photos posted in the Warhammer Community 2018 Warhammer Fest Europe post on August 18th. While I’m not too interested in the spin-off 40k games, the new models shown of the “Kustom Boosta-blasta” and the “Shokkjump Dragsta” look incredible. The current Ork buggy is super out-dated and sorely was in need of a refresh. I’ve added a few pics below but check out the full blog post here for all the details and more. My next wish would be a Wartrakk update and updated Grot-Bomb Launcher respectively. I’d go nuts for officail rule sets for Battle Fortresses and Gargants. A girl can dream…
