With my new years resolution to paint at least 1 unit every 2 week, I chose for the first 2-weeks my HQ unit. I know technically they aren’t a unit or could in fact each be counted as an independent unit, I chose to do the whole lot instead of just coping out and going the easy route. I’m a brand-spanking new painter and the only real way to motivate me really is to challenge me. I chose to paint the HQ because, the way I see it, the lowly Boy and Gretchin are inspired by their commanders. If they go into battle and see a grey / primer colored high command then morale would suffer.
I know this is fluff, but this is actually how I chose who I was going to paint. Shut up.
So here’s a short list of the models that are in the HQ unit and their various levels of paint:
- Ghazghkull – Finecast model, primed white
- Warboss 1 – AoBR plastic model, grey
- Warboss 2 – AoBr plastic model, previous owner painted him to a tabletop standard.
- Big Mek w/SAG – Pewter model, I already painted this Mek.
- Big Mek w/KFF – Pewter model, previous owner painted him to a tabletop standard.
- Weirdboy – Pewter model, bare metal, in pieces.
In reality, I only need to paint 3 models. Granted the level of details on these models are higher than lets say a Boy, but not a bad test of my painting salt. I’ll post pics as progress is made
