Inspired by a post over on BoLS, I’d like to make a few 40K new year resolutions. This is the first time I’m doing this so, hold on to your butts:
– Play at least 1 game per month. Life (work, family, etc) definitely takes priority, so I’m setting the bar kind of low here.
– Paint at least 1 unit every 2 weeks. The majority of my army is still grey and come hell or high water, I will get all 6K+ points painted in 2014!
– Branch out from my private gaming group. Being pretty new to 40K, I feel like I’m in a comfortable little bubble. I’m determined to meet new players and embrace the local community in 2014.
– No purchasing new models until everything else is painted. Kinda says it all. If I want new units/gear/etc, I better get on the ball.
– Construct my own 6×4 gaming table. Been on the list for a while and I have friends that won’t play at the FLGS… sooooo… there you have it.
– Learn to Airbrush. I don’t have an Airbrush currently but I have quite a lot of vehicles to paint and it’s a skill that transcends 40k, so why not?
– Play more fun lists. Enough with the competitive lists and serious desire to spank my opponant. I want to have more fun in 2014 and that means more fluffy, random and crazy lists! Weirdboyz, Old Zogwort, SAG… you know, the fun “Orky” units.
I have faith that I can accomplish all of the above and from the looks of the list, all points sound pretty reasonable. Remind me of this when I’m in painting hell or am having massive anxiety issues when meeting random folks at my FLGS!
